“Love of God and love of neighbor
in the spirit of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi,
and our patroness, Mother M. Anselma,
form the heart of our work .”
Sister M. Christine, FSGM
The mission of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, shared by all staff members at Mother of Good Counsel Home, is to Make Christ’s Merciful Love Visible. We work to live this mission daily with every encounter with our residents, their families and friends, and new visitors. Each staff member is carefully chosen and nurtured to work in ways that express great dignity and respect for our residents, promote their independence and help them live joyfully. In this way, we believe we can be extensions of family members in caring for elderly relatives, and serve as loving caregivers for seniors.
Day after day and year after year, our Sisters and staff strive to make our Home a place where residents feel truly at home with the compassionate care they receive. As a result, we are a place of peace and comfort that has earned the trust of multiple generations of families. We pray that many more who are in need of a skilled nursing facility will consider Mother of Good Counsel Home as their home.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I
may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
