Prayer for seniors comes in many forms, from quiet contemplation and listening to active reading and discussion. Mother of Good Counsel Home offers options for both Catholics and non-Catholics to grow closer to God as individuals and within families and community.
In addition to daily sacrifice of the Mass and offering the Holy Sacraments of the Eucharist, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick, our Home also provides opportunities for individual and group prayer:
-
Morning and evening prayers shared over the intercom.
-
At bedtime, a Sister visits each resident’s room to say goodnight and to offer a prayer of blessing with Holy Water.
-
Weekly group prayer of the Holy Rosary.
-
Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on the First Friday of each month.
-
Stations of the Cross during Lent.
-
Prayer services and prayerful support by special request for residents and their families.
-
Prayers for the Commendation of the Dying.
-
The Chapel is open to all for private contemplation and prayer.
